Working together 2023 (Norway)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

PLAYING NGO visited the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences from 20th<\/sup>-22nd<\/sup> April 2023. The purpose of the visit was to exchange know-how and good practices on the role of non-guided play in education and the ways teachers and educators support children\u2019s play.<\/span><\/p>

With Bendik Sierra (Assistant Professor) we visited Espira Kunnskapsbarnehagen Salamonskogen and we had the opportunity to talk with the owner and director of the school Heine Larsen. Heine explained the operation of the school and the importance of familiarizing children with all aspect of outdoor leaving and experiential learning. \u00a0Experiential learning is a method of education in which learners actively engage in the process of learning. We had the opportunity to witness the processes of active experimentation and reflective observation.<\/span><\/p>

We also had the opportunity to attend a lecture on outdoor living and discuss with the university faculty ways of future cooperation.<\/span><\/p>

The initiative was covered by national and local media.<\/span><\/p>

Working together 2020 (Iceland)<\/b><\/span><\/p>

PLAYING NGO\u00a0 visited the\u00a0Department of Education and Youth of the City of Reykjavik<\/a>, on 19th, 20th and 21st of February 2020. The purpose of the visit was to exchange know-how and good practices on the role of play in education, the design of public play areas, the participation of children in the decision-making processes, the ways that adults support children\u2019s play, the policies in place, and the general culture of play in Iceland, with the aim of developing good practices in Greece.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Hj\u00f6rtur \u00c1g\u00fastsson, Project Manager of International Relations and Grants from the Department of Education and Youth of the City of Reykjavik, presented the structure and basic axes of Iceland\u2019s education system, the services it offers to children and young people, as well as the new educational policy of the City of Reykjavik.<\/span><\/p>

On Sunday the 8th 2020\u00a0 the outcomes of this initial collaboration were presented at the\u00a0Athens Digital Lab\u00a0<\/a>of the Serafeio City of Athens Center. Participants included teachers, preschool educators, architects, health professionals as well as representatives of public organizations and foundations.<\/span><\/p>

Working together 2017 (Norway)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

On\u00a0 January\u00a0 2017 PLAYING visited the\u00a0Department of Preschool Education of the Queen Maud University in Trondheim, Norway.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>

The aim of the visit was to exchange knowledge and promote free play for children especially play in outdoor spaces and in nature.<\/span><\/p>

The results of PLAYING\u2019S visit to Queen Maud University College of Early Childhood Education (Dronning Mauds Minne H\u00f8gskole) in Trondheim was presented at\u00a0Social Dynamo<\/a>\u00a0on Saturday the 18th of February. Students of pre-school education, parents, teachers and volunteers attended the seminar. Prof. Zakopoulou and Prof. Roufidou from the\u00a0Department of Pre-School Education of the \u03a4echnological Educational Institution of Athens\u00a0<\/a>and Mrs. Poulakida (Head of pre-school Education in the Municipality of Athens)\u00a0honoured PLAYING with their presence.<\/span><\/p>

The Fund Operator for the Active citizens fund in Greece is Bodossaki Foundation in consortium with SolidarityNow. Visit to the Gufunesb r Center The Active citizens fund in Greece is supported through a \u20ac 12m grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as part of the EEA Grants 2014 -2021. The program aims to develop the sustainability and capacity of the civil society sector in Greece, and to strengthen its role in promoting and safeguarding democratic procedures, active citizenship and human rights.
